As my mind was racing about the holi-daze officially taking residence in my head, I was inspired to de-clutter the thoughts and wanted to write about the true meaning and share some thoughts about people and events that have stayed with me. It's like an inspiration journal, only the format will be one poem or thought per day until Christmas - starting now.

I grew up in Michigan, and the holiday season was always special. Sometimes I have these visions of being a house with a fire going on a cold December day and I'm looking out the window. It's a very comforting thought.

My Midwest Memory

This December afternoon

Is all that I need in the world

As I look out into the endless snow covered land
