I swapped the subway for some serenity

The year 2020 has provided a lot of reflection, anxiety and sadness for everyone in our world. The combination of Covid-19, historically high unemployment, political divisiveness and unrest about police brutality has rocked our world to it's core. After the pandemic ravaged NYC, I decided to move to Florida to be closer to family, and re-group in a quiet and nature-filled environment. It was one of the toughest decisions that I've ever made. I lived in NYC for seven years, and do consider it a life education. Throughout all of the ups and downs while earning my NYC stripes, I never once thought of leaving. I loved it and hated it and it provided such an amazing
fuel. However, something changed with the pandemic and it didn't quite make sense for me to sit in an expensive apartment while the city's ecosystem had basically shut down. During my last few weeks, I rode my bike around the entire island of Manhattan, and was able to see the neighborhoods like I never had before. This is big thank you to NYC for teaching me the true meaning of the hustle. After all, I'm just trying to eat out here! (My friend from the Brooklyn hood taught me that one.)
