Hey GG Friends: writing has always been a way for me to clear my head and organize my thoughts. And since my emotions feel like the picture attached today, here we go.

Today my dad had double lung transplant surgery. It took eight hours and I hear that it went well. I'm hopeful about the outcome. He's a pragmatic, positive thinker and also, this was his last shot. I've been nervous today, but I'm feeling better as I write about it. He will be in ICU for a few days now and will be monitored by a team. New lease dad!

My move from the concrete jungle to the actual jungle has been a good one so far. Marco Island is truly beautiful, and never loses it's charm. I still get jumpy when I see these black snakes, dragonflies, geckos, cockroaches, and any other creature that just seems bigger down here, but I digress. I move into my new place on Sept 1 in a community called Ole. It's ten minutes from Marco Island city limits, so my movie nights with my mom will be no problem.

I sold my first photo, have been exercising a lot, discovered that I like baking , bought a bright blue island chick bike, and am continuing to try to capture those golden hours and angles with my camera. I've applied for jobs in my industry, your industry, your brother's industry, etc. Covid-19 is pure hell. I'm so sorry for all of the families who have lost loved ones. I'm honestly so pissed about what it has done to our country and that more wasn't done to control it early on. I lost my job as a direct result of this mess, and I'm at the end of my rope with the crybaby anti-maskers who won't help us get back to our livelihoods. This pandemic has brought out a lot of ignorance in our country, and it's unsettling to watch.

Big shout out to my mom. I feel very grateful that I've had this opportunity to re-group down here and have support from my mom. She works full-time, and still does everything for everyone. I get a kick out of speaking with people in the condo complex where she works. Apparently, my mom has some juice. I love it.

That's it for now. I normally try to keep my blog smooth and professional but today I needed a little writing therapy. If you read this, thank you and tell me how YOU are doing.

Peace out! You have my word that I'll continue with a short and catchy post next time around like a true blogger should.
